The most common scholarship is the nationally awarded Four Year NROTC Scholarship. Four Year Scholarship Program Benefits include:
- 100% tuition and required fees
- $750/year for book stipend
- $250/month stipend for ten months as a freshman; increases $50 per year
- Uniforms
- Midshipmen pay during summer training periods (normally 4 weeks)
Navy-option scholarships are tied to a Tier (major) which is assigned when you are awarded a scholarship.
- Tier 1: Selected Engineering
- Tier 2: Science and Mathematics
- Tier 3: Non-Technical Majors including Foreign Languages
- LREC: Language Skills, Regional Expertise, and Cultural Awareness Program, awarded to select students nationally
The Navy goal: 85% of scholarships are awarded to students who pursue technical (Tier 1 or 2) majors.
Marine Corps option scholarships are not tied to a Tier.
Students in their senior year of high school or current freshmen who missed the NROTC application deadline but still desire to compete for a nationally-awarded NROTC scholarship may apply for a Three Year Scholarship.
